Munich Fun

Munich, Germany [Day 1]

I guess before I go back to posts about Italy, I'll show you some pics of our first day in Germany! I have 500 pics of Italy that I have to go through so.... that'll take a while haha

I'm here with my mom, her sister ( = my aunt and uncle), my grandma and my cousin Al. My cousin Nick (from my dad's side of the family) has been living in Munich for the past year, and his grandparents came to see him at the same time that we decided to come... so we all met up!

There you can see my cousin Al on the left and my aunt Bibi with her back to the camera on the right. I wore my Ray Ban sunglasses, Delia's dress with the cute animal print and a colombian bag that I love.

That picture was taken by my mom (who is now sitting behind me on the bed, combing my hair trying to get rid of the knots - I didn't bring a comb to Italy, so I lived 9 days without combing my hair. This is what I get). My mom and cousin kept teasing, saying my socks didn't go with the dress (snif snif)... I love those shoes! First time wearing them. Love.

My cousin Alejandro is pretty crazy, as you can see. When we're walking around town, he'll wander off and then skip back. You never know where he is, but he always finds his way back. And he talks a whole lot.

That is a picture of my mom and my grandma (abuelita) who came all the way from her home in Colombia. We have a very loving family down in South America... It's one of my favorite places to go.

We also sat down for a beer and some food. I had a sausage. Yummy! And lastly, here is a picture of my lovely cousin and me. It was great to see him, and I think we'll hang out again tomorrow.. Can't wait! Germany, you've been good to me so far!

Here is a PREVIEW of my time in Italy.
In my full "Italy" post, I will tell you about how delicious the pizza was, and all the other things.

I literally have no time to write. I'm sorry!
I just got home (Paris) from Italy and I'm packing for Germany. Tomorrow we leave veeeery early for Munich. It's hectic at home right now. My grandmother, aunt and uncle, cousin from Colombia are here, as well as my mom, and I'm packing. I have no idea what's in the luggage. Tomorrow, I'll get there, and see if I can actually wear the stuff! (course I will haha)

This is how I feel!!!

My dad has an iphone now... so instagram! Pretty freakin' amazing. I wish I had a iphone – but just for the camera, music, and access to YouTube. I don't actually want the "phone" part of it... hmmm...

I hope to let you know what I'm up to soon!
I've never been to Germany... this is exciting!

Dance, baby

Do you know how much time I spend dancing to music every day?!

Mornings are the worst.
I'm getting ready, listening to music, and... I just dance and dance and dance and never get dressed. Don't get me wrong, dancing around naked is fun. Eventually, I do get dressed. And then I turn the music on, and I dance some more. I dance to everything. Lana del Rey, Ellie Goulding, The Young Folk, Bell X1, probably even Ben Howard, I don't know.

I love dancing.
I love music.
Never gonna get things done though. In fact, the music is off right now, so that I could sit down and write this.

So... have a good day!

That's me as a baby --->

Love, Freedom & Truth,

Well, I'm at my grandparents' house right now... This house is a treasure chest. And I've been finding so many things. One drawer was full of pictures. Some I had never seen before! I'm going to share some wonderful pictures with you...mostly of the 90s! (In advance: Yes, I look a lot like my mom, I know!)

Man, something is going on with my eyes. I don't know what it is, but I wonder if it has something to do with spending too much time on the computer. This past year, I've started spending a lot more time staring at this screen. All my homework is done on Word nowadays. A lot of reading is done online. All the info for classes can be found in emails. I am now a blogger, and that's some extra time on the computer. I don't own a TV, so if I want to watch a movie, it's on this computer...  I really am SICK of it. This summer, I am definitely cutting back on computer time. I'm even thinking of writing my blog posts on paper first, so I don't have to sit and think while staring at the computer. Next year as well, I will spend less time on the computer. I will definitely write essays and final papers by hand, at least the outlines, and then copy them onto Word. I'll spend less time watching TV shows online too. I'll spend more time outside... Maybe I need glasses! Who knows.

I've got some REALLY exciting news!!!
I opened my email the other day to see that.... the Smith College board has approved my request to accelerate which means I will be graduating a year early! I'm now Class of 2014! I'm so happy. I really want to focus on music. This is very exciting for me.

Do you like old pictures? They don't "bring back memories" for me... I don't remember much! But I love them! I hope you liked these - because I have a ton more that I can post soon :)

Today, we got up, went to the Apple store and... well, we bought a new computer. Same one. MacBook Pro. I only trust MacBook computers! The guy came out saying the insides of my computer were completely soaked in red wine. He's 99% sure the hard drive is okay, and they're working on transferring everything to my new computer. I also got an external hard drive and a bunch of CDs for my pictures and all that. As my grandmother put it, that was one expensive glass of wine.

Today, I discovered a box full of stuff from my childhood. When I was seven and we moved to Spain, we left a lot of things behind, and a lot of them ended up in my grandparents' attic. There was a bag with my baby teeth. It was kinda creepy. An old dress.. Some of my drawings. There was a notebook from my preschool years at Rivendell, where they put photos, and even wrote down some stuff they overheard me saying. These two conversations made me laugh so much!
Valentina to Abe: "When I grow up, I will marry somebody. Maybe it will be you and maybe not. We'll have to wait and see."
Abe: "When we grow up we will get married but Godzilla won't live at our house."
Valentina: "No, except if he is very friendly he could visit us. But if he roars one time he has to go away, right?"

It was really nice going through all my old stuff. I also went through a loooot of pictures, and a lot of my dad's stuff. I found a French metro card from the late 80s, a London subway map, a map of Ireland with all the different hostels, letters, school work. Had I found the school work years ago, I could have said "AHA! You weren't perfect in school either!"

Got another person helping me with my stay in Ireland. Very grateful.
People... they're not that bad, are they? In my experience so far as a human being living on this planet, Irish people have been the nicest.

I'd like to leave you with that thought. Cheers!
