SEE YOU IN THE FALL

Tonight is my last night at Smith College until next fall. You may have read a previous post about this, if not, I'll tell you again: I'm taking next semester off. I'm going back "home" to Paris. I'll write songs, play them for people, go to Ireland and fall in love with the Irish all over again, find a part time job, writing writing writing songs the whole time. It was a decision I made back in October and it was the right one. Tonight, my friends Kady, Sarah (the violinist), Tachrina and I went out for dinner. We went to Sam's for pizza and then GoBerry for frozen yoghurt. The perfect night. I don't know why I didn't do this more often during the semester. I think that people are so busy these days (why are we all so busy all the time?) that sometimes we forget to make time for the important things, like going out for a slice of pizza with friends and feeling really good to be around people you like. Life is so short and I want to enjoy every minute of it.

Not only that but how am I supposed to take it all back to Paris once I graduate from Smith?! My closets and drawers there are FULL and I have drawers and drawers of books, clothes, and other things here at Smith and at my grandparents in Pennsylvania. Something will have to change, and I will definitely work on that.

I'm excited about going back and sad to leave my friends. I'm completely fine with leaving the US to be honest. I'm in love with Europe. I can't wait to be back in Paris, I can't wait to go to Ireland at the end of January. I can't wait, I can't wait. Now, I must go spend as many minutes as I can with lady Kady.

You're a brave girl for taking some time off. I took two years off in the middle of uni, and it was absolutely the right choice for me; despite the heavy sighs from my family. Best wishes on your journey. Life is unpredictable and fun.

Thanks! My family is surprisingly okay with it. Probably because it's just a semester and I've already told them many times that YES, i'll be back in the fall.

Thank you for the wishes :) I'm sure it'll be fantastic. Life certainly is unpredictable. I find that some of the best moments in my life have been when I didn't plan a thing.
