SUN PARADE & FARMER'S MARKETS

IMG_3894

This has been a productive day so far. I've been really busy lately, trying to catch up on readings etc, playing music, going to concerts... Yesterday I met with a violinist here at Smith to see if she could play the violin for some of my songs. She has 11 years of experience and learned the song in... I don't know, 5 seconds. She's super nice, super talented, and seems very reliable! Very happy about it. Last night Kady* and I went downtown for a concert at Iron Horse. You should definitely check them out. They are also very nice, and I asked Jeffrey to add some mandolin to my songs 'cause he's very good at it. All night, people kept shouting "More mandolin!!" haha. The concert was at 10pm and after that, we went to Sam's pizza to get a slice of heaven. I got pepperoni, Kady got Black beans & avocado. Delicious! I don't know how but it was already 2AM by the time we got home. This morning we (Kady and I) went to the Farmer's Market in NoHo. It's so cute and small! We didn't buy anything but took some pictures. I'll go again sometime this month. I've a recipe in mind...! (to share with you all too)

*Kady is pretty much my closest friend here. Just saying. You'll hear a lot of "Kady and I did this or did that..." She's awesome and full of surprises!

I'm still a tiny bit sick, but I'm sure I'll get over it by the end of the weekend. I'm at the library, and I finished some important stuff... Off to have dinner and then study some more in my room! I'll be back soon with my goals for October.

...Don't you just love pumpkins?

PUMPKIN

IMG_3886 IMG_3868

This is what I wore today... I didn't really get ready for a outfit photo shoot or anything. My friend Kady took these pictures about 5 minutes after I came home from work. Working with toddlers is amazing. I love it. I had two classes this morning, and then when I went to get mail, I had two "You've got a package!" notes. Two! Woop woop! One was my brand new mini fridge and one was my new Lodinatt bag. I love it! I'm so grateful they wanted to work with me again because this new bag is great and just what I needed. I feel like I got over that cold rather quickly which is great. I just really wanted to be okay again. I drank tons of green tea...
So, this look came from wanting to be comfortable and wanting to feel like it's fall. Hence the orange and hence the shorts & cape. I found this cape at a thrift store here in NoHo. I love it! Still rockin' my Blowfish boots almost every day of the week. Trust me, they're so comfy.

PART 2: GUITAR

IMG_2526 IMG_2513
Ah, how I love this guitar...

So, I'm at the library at the moment. I have a class in 45 minutes, I think I can finish the post before then. I'll watch Myles O'Reilly's videos while I write though... They're lovely. I would watch them if I were you. I love watching the Lisa Hannigan Recording Diaries ones. Not because it's Lisa, but because that recording process is so... dreamy. I want that! To record an album! The thought just makes me smile.
Today is my friend Kady's birthday so VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY KADY! You're an amazing person! Woop woop! (She just turned 20!) (She also took all the pictures for this and for Part 1)
This weekend, Anna and I go to Ben Howard's concert in Boston. How very very very exciting!
I've been super healthy lately which is awesome. Since I tend to get all faint if I don't eat every two or so hours, I've decided to really try and eat six small meals instead of 3 big ones. It's been very easy for breakfast. Just sit down for five minutes for a little bit of yoghurt and cranberries, and then grab something to eat right after my first class. It's harder for lunch and dinner though. I forget. Anyway, maybe I'll go into more details in another post.

Outfit... Dress: Thrifted Pepe Jeans / Necklace c/o Deuce / Boots c/o Blowfish Shoes / Bracelet: homemade

This dress was an amazing find in a thrift store in Paris. It was kind of tight at first, but I loved it so much! I think I've lost a couple pounds though and it feels nice! Not so tight. I absolutely love the way it looks with these tights and the amazing Blowfish boots. And finally some pictures of my guitar where you can see the whole thing... She's so beautiful, isn't she?
See you soon for Part 3!

PART 1: HARMONIUM

Hello my dear readers! I came up with an exciting idea the other day, and so... I made it happen. I decided to put together an outfit for each one of my instruments... So here is my first outfit with the beloved harmonium!

IMG_2447 IMG_2459 IMG_2456

I'm so very in love with this instrument! It's amazing! The sound that comes out of it... Wow... I can't tell you why I picked this outfit for the harmonium... I just "felt it" haha. Had to be yellow tights. The boots are new, sent to me by the wonderful Blowfish shoes. They're amazing! I love 'em. I'm actually also wearing them today! Today is very similar to this outfit haha. I'm wearing that dress, black tights, mustard colored sweater and the boots, with owl earrings my mom gave me for Christmas ♡ The necklace was given to me by Deuce, a lovely Etsy shop with beautiful jewelry! I love love love it too. It's so nice and simple. I feel like it adds something special to this outfit!

TOUR: ROOM WITH A VIEW

Hello and many apologies. I haven't blogged a lot and it's of course due to the fact that I'm back in college for my junior year. The classes I'm taking this semester are challenging. I guess that's what happened when you take classes that aren't "Intro to..." But it's okay because they're all interesting!
So... I took some pictures of my room so I could finally show you. It's weird 'cause pictures like this aren't as pretty as bits of the room (which I'll show you later on). When you get close to one part of the room, the pictures are nice. Here I just wanted to show you the space I'm in though.

I'm wearing sweats because... I went to the gym! So proud of myself. I think I may actually be able to go 4 to 5 times a week this semester! Also, a picture of my closet. I used to organize it by color, but now it's (left to right) Bottoms: pants, skirts; Tops: dresses, shirts, sweaters, coats. And then by color if possible. I'm loving my room! Thanks to bed risers, I can finally store things under my bed. I have some new jersey sheets that are incredibly comfy. I have a couch! And all my instruments have their own special place.

Today is my first day as a sports photographer. Yay! Wish me luck. I thought I'd have time for an outfit photoshoot but I think that'll have to be tomorrow. I really am going to try to make it a weekly thing. I have a lot of reading and writing to do this weekend. Unfortunately (fortunately?) the harmonium sucks me in for hours at a time! I just play and play and play.... So now I have to read and read and read. I hope you enjoyed the "tour"! haha

Have a great weekend!
