Well hi there! My name is Sara without an h. and I blog over at Chalk White Arrow. I currently dwell in SLC; but dream of life in NYC. My husband is Camden, a blonde haired, blue eyed hunk and fashion guru who knows everything and anything about bikes and womens shoes. A little white haired fluff man named Kramer is our dog who we love like our child and we three live in the heart of the city trying to figure out this little thing called life.
Today I thought I would share my favorite way to hang frames and how we've hung a few over in our home.
When hanging frames in my home, I like them to look like a collection or art gallery instead of hanging them all in a grid. I feel when art is hung like this it gives pictures a collected look like they have been gathered over time. I like to think artwork and photographs hung on walls, don't necessarily have to all be the same distance apart, have the same colored frames, or even be hung in frames for that matter. As long as they look good together and compliment each other slightly they'll be looking fabulous. A good trick to view how they will look on the wall without hammering a thousand wholes first, is to mark the space you want to hang your art on the floor with tape, then arrange the photos on the floor in different arrangements until you are happy with how they collaborate with each other. This way photos will end up looking beautiful and collected with out looking too contrived, plus i've found it's a good conversation starter when people come to our home.
