THE FAMILY

Fitzgerald Gatsby Daisy Syvlia Leonard & Virginia Joyce Montag Shel Wonka billy wilde t & t Hemingway c & t Kerouac orpheus eurydice plant1
After scrolling through all these pictures of plants, you're probably wondering what's going on... Well, during the last six months in Paris, I've acquired a lot of little plant friends. 21 to be exact. Today, I decided to give them all names because I love 'em! They make my room look like a jungle, and I love it! Absolutely love it. I take care of them like they're my babies and now that they have names, maybe I'll start talking to them. Oh how strange that will be... I bought Dionysus, Orpheus and Eurydice last which is why they don't have the same kind of names... I've been listening to Anais Mitchell's "Child Ballads" and "Hadestown" so much lately. That's my explanation. Vx

PS. Can any of you successfully get every name right? What author? What poet? What person? What character? What book? Some are easy, some are not... ;)

Don't keep all of them in the same room you sleep in at night! Because you know, the plants need oxygen at night (but they need CO2 at affternoon) and you need oxygen also, so it's not really good to sleep in the same room where there are many plants... :)

I love that you named your plants (all great names too!). I could never do that, however, because I would feel even more guilty when they inevitably wither and die under my care. I am the worst plant mother in the world. Yours look terrific--keep up the good work!

This made me giggle! I've never actually thought about naming plants ... And I am a big fan of naming things (although my car is called kar (with a k) - not very inventive!) ... Such wonderful names too!

I just love the idea of giving names to your little plant babies! It's adorable and so charming!
Maybe I'll start doing the same but I fear if one of them dies (that happens a lot in my appartement, either to hot or to dry) I might be even sadder... I'll think about it though! ;-)

I love succulents. They are the plants that have survived my non-green thumb the longest! Thank goodness I'm great with my dogs! And I think it's a great idea to name them. Maybe I'll name mine. If I do I'll definitely have to link back to you. Naming them might keep them alive that much longer. ;) -Jess L

Okay, sorry for the comment overload but I think we would be total bff in real life! I love all of your posts and your mind is so similar to mine! Your succulents are adorable and the names are even better! Amazing.
