BITS & PIECES

I'm not sure why I woke up so early today. It's a Saturday and I went to bed late finishing watercolor paintings. But I was up and alert at 7:00 and I remembered how I felt yesterday morning being outside at 7:30, going to work. The streets were quiet, no one in sight, a nice, crisp air and the gentle morning sun. I had thought to myself "it would be nice to go for a little nature walk at this time... maybe one of these days". So that's what I did this morning. I collected leaves, red, green and yellow, and listened to a podcast. Now I'm back in my room and just spent two or three hours painting... I love it. It's so relaxing.

Yesterday was quite a magical day. I found happiness in all the small things. Let me just say: I'm glad I finally found time to blog – especially at Mosaic cafĂ©. I also painted while I was there, but it started to get really dark out so I went looking for dinner. Ever since my grandmother and I had dinner at Yum Yum in New York, I've been craving the duck salad I ate there. It was seriously one of the best dishes I've ever had. The lime dressing was amazing. So I went online searching for asian restaurants in Northampton, searching for something similar. Noodles had a great salad selection, none with duck though. So I asked if I could get the Lucky Salad with duck and she was so nice and totally made it happen (extra cost – no big deal). I brought it home, and enjoyed it more than anything else I've eaten all week. And I painted all night long. Certain things I make (like the little corner you can see) take way longer than you would think. They're small, but they can take over three hours. Vx
