I want to say, don't forget your toothbrush and you're set. Right?

I travel quite a bit, and I'd like to think I've gotten better at packing. One thing that can be hard is knowing what beauty products to take and which to leave... Coming to Colombia, I actually brought quite a bit because I'm staying for two months, and I had two suitcases plus a carry-on plus a purse, so it wasn't a big deal to overpack. And I really didn't have time to go through everything again and again so I kept throwing things in haha. But sometimes you're taking RyanAir or hiking for days and you realize how important it is to pack light.

So for those times, I have the basics. I strip it down to the essentials (I bet I could even make the list shorter).

  • deodorant. These days I use homemade deodorant that actually works (more in future post)
  • toothbrush. Yes, yes, yes
  • vitamins. A simple multi-v is great and takes up less space
  • moisturizer. So your skin stays happy. Ideally find one that says spf 15+ so it's two in one bottle
  • Lip balm. I also make my own (more in a future post)
  • Tweezers. I don't know about you but this is an essential for me... (hashtag colombian)
  • Concealer. When it comes down to it, this is the only make-up I reaaaaally need
  • Mascara. If I leave the house wearing just mascara, I usually feel like I put in enough effort
  • Eyeshadow or eyeliner. To feel fancier, I guess.
  • Oil Absorbing sheets. Not an essential for all but a good, light thing to have
  • Make up remover. If you take make up
  • Shampoo & Soap. If you're going somewhere that won't provide it. I rarely do apparently
  • Nail file. You don't want to take a whole nail kit, but if you break a nail, you'll be happy you had it

Any essentials for you that I didn't mention?
I didn't mention razor, though I still should. But I hate shaving so I try to wax and have started permanent hair removal too. So I never have to worry about that again. I also didn't mention dry shampoo, which is a great replacement for shampoo.
